Who's on the bill this year?

3pm - Hyde Street Youth Band

The band is pleased to return in it's 80th year of providing young people valuable performance experience and brass music tuition.  For several decades this ensemble was the school band at Footscray City Primary in Hyde St. and became a community-based band in the 1970's.  They are probably best known to older locals for playing Sons of the 'Scray at Western Bulldogs AFL matches for many years.  Hyde St......sounding great since '28!

3.30pm - Head Under Ground

The band first came together in January 2006 in the steamy & hot oven that the boys like to call Ash's Garage.  All members have just completed Yr. 12 at C.B.C. St. Kilda but have lived their entire lives in Seddon/Yarraville/Maidstone.  Music excites them and they look forward to every gig.  Given the chance they deliver a punchy and live set (influenced by such diverse acts as Cream, Pearl Jam, Kings of Leon, 'old school' rock) that leaves the audience wanting more.  They return this year as a 4-piece after their debut trio format at SedFest 07.  HUG's line-up is Anthony (Pato) - lead vocals & rhythm guitar, Liam (Billy Boy) - lead guitar, Ash (Baldi) - drums and Rhys (RPM) - bass & backing vocals.

The boys recently enjoyed their first 'pub' gig at the Central Club in Richmond.

4.15pm - The Mercurials
The Mercurials are Mark Ferrie, Andrew Pendlebury and Adi Sappir.  Mark & Andrew have played SedFest in earlier years.

As they describe themselves:  "Two guitars, cello and vocals.  Lots of history.  Lots of influences"
.....need we say more?  Well, maybe it's worth mentioning that Mark is the bassist with the RocKwiz Orkestra on SBS TV's "RocKwiz".

5.15pm - Ross Hannaford Trio

What can be said about Ross Hannaford that hasn't been said a million times before?  Guitarist for iconic Aussie rockers Daddy Cool, he's back again with a new trio format from SedFest 07.....with his funky-rasta 'Randell' guitar which has now been recovered from the theft of his van late last year!  Check out his new MySpace site.

6.15pm - The Trips

Playing their first SedFest, this dynamic three-piece female band is from Melbourne. Their combination of musical talent, 3-part harmonies and passion for rock ‘n’ roll separates them from the typical, pathetic girl band cliché.  The Trips raw, garage sound stems from the roots of a mixture of The Vines, The Strokes, The Rolling Stones, Yeah Yeah Yeahs, Veruca Salt and Nirvana.
Formed in May 2005, The Trips line-up consists of Erin on guitar, Laura on bass, and Jaz on drums. When The Trips hit the stage they deliver a lively and entertaining set which leaves the audience wanting more.  This has led to the development of a dedicated and supportive fan base, who will never miss a show.  The Trips have already set alight the stages of The Laundry, Ding Dong Lounge, The Commercial & Barleycorn hotels, The Noise Bar and others.

This will be Jaz's last appearance with the band, so come down and give her a big send-off!
